Charalampos Doukas (AGILE Project and Technical Coordinator) received a Diploma in Information & Communication Systems Engineering and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of the Aegean in Greece. His main research interests include wireless sensors and data transmission over heterogeneous networks, pervasive computing, multimedia transmission, data classification and applications for the Internet of Things. He has published more than 50 research papers in international scientific conferences, 17 journal papers and 7 book chapters. He is also the author of "Building the Internet of Things with the Arduino". He is an associate member of IEEE, member of IEEE EMBS Society and peer reviewer in scientific journals like the IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (former Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine) and IEEE Transactions in Medical Imaging. His research work has been cited over 150 times (h index = 8) in the scientific literature and in the past he has participated in a number of National and European Research Projects.
Irene Ingardi is project manager and researcher at Artshare. Graduated in Economics and Management for Arts, Culture and Communication at Bocconi University (Italy), in Management Science at Solvay Business School (Belgium) and currently PhD candidate in Consumer Culture Theory at University of Lille (France), Irene thoroughly enjoys the complexities of multidisciplinary projects and ever since her studies she has focused on how to combine the best of the creative industries, the nonprofit sector and efficient business management.
Philippe Krief is the Research Relations Director of the Eclipse Foundation Europe GmbH. He is a project leader, expert in object-oriented design, embedded development, development tools and Agile-Scrum development process. He received his PhD in Computer Science, option Artificial Intelligence and Integrated Development Environments from University Paris VIII, France in 1990. He has a passion for Eclipse since its beginning, early 2000, when he was involved in the early versions of the Eclipse platform. He was a committer on the eRCP Eclipse project. Before joining the Eclipse Foundation staff, he was Senior Architect on Embedded developments, Collaborative Application Lifecycle Management evangelist and R&D Development Manager for Object Technology International, IBM and ARCAD Software.
David Remón studied a Master Degree in Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Zaragoza, focusing on Wireless Sensor Networks. Since 2013 he has been working in Libelium, being part of the R&D. He is the Project Manager, coordinating among other projects the part of Social&Smart related to Libelium.
Dr. Andreas Menychtas graduated from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2004 and in 2009 he received his Ph.D. in the area of Distributed and Cloud Computing.
He worked in the private sector as software and research engineer and has been involved in several EU and National funded projects (e.g. IRMOS, 4CaaSt, SAM, UNCAP and AGILE). Currently, he leads the technical and research activities of BioAssist S.A., and focuses on the integration and management of IoT devices, such as biosignal sensors and activity trackers, in the frame of the company’s homecare and assisted living solution.
Xavier Riera holds a Degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and joined Worldline Spain in July 2014 as an Innovation Consultant and Project Manager. Before joining Worldline, he has been working in the IT Consultancy business for over 20 years. Among others he’s been working for: Capgemini, Grey Group, Ancert, Ciber … Xavier has lead all types of projects always encompassing cutting edge technologies and innovative solutions related to intenet, e-commerce and mobility platforms. He’s been recently involved in the EU Horizon 2020 Program, participating in the submission of several ICT proposals and now is also leading a WorkPackage for the CloudOpting EU CIP Project.
