Role in project

BioAssist will leas the QuantifiedSelf pilot and also contribute in the development of AGILE software modules about device communication, collection of data and visualization.
Bioassist aims through the participation in the AGILE proposal to enrich the existing home care platform with the Quantified Self concept. By exploiting the communication and extensibility features of the gateway, the real-time analysis algorithms will be fused with data from various sources such as biosignal measurements, proximity sensors and also historical data from patient’s EHR so as to provide continuous assessment and also to detect anomalies and emergencies (e.g. detect potential falls exploiting the smartwatch data or behavioural changes). For the latter, a helpdesk service will be automatically notified and route the appropriate form of assistance, exploiting the social networking and video conferencing functionality with friends, relatives and professionals that is also provided by the platform for normal and also emergency situations.
